These terms describe how cat care with Elena's Cat Care Amstelveen works: how a request becomes a booking, what a visit includes, and what we agree with each other.

About these terms

Cat care is provided by Elena's Cat Care Amstelveen, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under KVK 42152402.

Elena provides all care personally. These terms apply to every request and booking made through this website, by WhatsApp or by email.

Services and prices

Home visit: €23 per visit. Two visits on the same day: €42 per day. Additional cat: +€2 per cat per visit.

Watering plants and collecting mail are included in a visit at no extra charge.

A Meet & Greet is free when you book a care period. On its own it costs €15.

A first booking receives 5% off. Any discount that applies is calculated by Elena when she confirms your request. The estimate shown in the booking form is indicative; the final price is confirmed together with your booking.

Meet & Greet

A Meet & Greet is required before a care booking. It is a visit of about 20–30 minutes at your home, so you and your cat can meet Elena, go through the daily routine and agree on the details before care starts.

The Meet & Greet is free when you book a care period. If you would like a Meet & Greet without booking care, or the care booking is cancelled after the Meet & Greet has taken place, a €15 call-out fee applies. It covers Elena's travel time and the introductory visit.

Requests, confirmation and bookings

A request is not a booking. Elena reviews every request personally and replies to you, usually within a day.

Nothing is booked until Elena confirms that your dates are available. Until then, dates and times are a preference rather than an agreement.

Payment

Payment is arranged after Elena has confirmed availability. She shares the payment details with the confirmation of your booking.

There are no customer accounts and no automatic charges.

Cancellations and changes

Cancelling 24 hours or more before a visit is free.

Cancelling less than 24 hours before a visit means the fee for that visit applies.

If a care booking is cancelled after the Meet & Greet has already taken place, the €15 call-out fee applies.

Keys and access to your home

How Elena gets into your home is agreed before the care period starts: a key, a key safe, someone letting her in, or another arrangement.

A key safe code is never sent with the online request and is never included in the WhatsApp or email message. You share it with Elena separately, after she has confirmed availability.

Vet and emergencies

This is cat care, not veterinary care. If your cat needs medical attention, that is a matter for your vet.

Please provide an emergency contact and your vet's details with your request, so Elena can reach you or your vet quickly if something seems wrong.

If your cat seems unwell or something looks unusual, Elena contacts you as soon as possible.

What a visit does and does not include

A visit takes at least 30 minutes: feeding, fresh water, litter box care, play and quiet companionship, following the routine your cat already knows.

Medication mixed into food can be given as part of a normal visit. Giving tablets or pills is not part of the service.

Visits take place from Sunday to Friday, between 09:00 and 17:00. Saturday is normally Elena's day off; if a Saturday visit is essential, mention it in your request and Elena will check whether it is possible.

The main service area is Middenhoven, Westwijk, Waardhuizen and Groenelaan in Amstelveen. Addresses outside the usual area may also be possible, depending on availability and travel distance.

Services outside my working area are available by prior request only. I will confirm availability and the individual price before the booking is confirmed.

Insurance

Elena's Cat Care is insured with Univé under a business liability insurance policy for the insured activity of providing cat sitting and care at clients' homes.

The policy includes business liability cover and cover for accidental damage to clients' property, subject to the applicable policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions.

The insurance policy started on 10 September 2026. The applicable policy terms determine whether and to what extent a particular incident is covered.

Insurance does not guarantee compensation in every situation.

Safety and respectful conduct

Elena has the right to refuse, stop or terminate a service if a client's behaviour is threatening, abusive, harassing or otherwise creates an unsafe situation for Elena, the cat or the home. Elena will communicate this to the client as soon as reasonably possible.

Privacy and contact

The details you send with a request are used only to arrange and provide the care you ask for. They are not shared with anyone else for other purposes.

About Elena

More than 15 years of experience with cats

I’m Elena, and cats have been an important part of my life for more than 15 years.

It all started with Bandit and Lady — brother and sister whom we adopted from the streets. When we moved to the Netherlands, of course we brought them with us as part of our family. Starting a new life wasn’t always easy, but having Bandit and Lady by our side made everything a little easier. Thanks to them, we quickly began to feel at home.

After losing Lady recently, I realised even more how much caring for cats means to me. I want to share that care and warmth with other cats and their owners, while keeping Lady’s memory close to my heart.

Bandit is still with us and continues to bring the same feeling of calm and comfort to our home.

I have a Master’s degree in Biology and Biomedicine, specialising in human and animal physiology. During my studies, I took part in research into new treatments for animals with acute kidney and heart failure complicated by diabetes.

This experience taught me to pay attention to the little things. So I don’t just feed your cat, change the water and clean the litter box — I also notice changes in behaviour and wellbeing, and I will always let you know if something seems unusual.

Every new introduction starts with a free Meet & Greet when you book a care period. It gives your cat a chance to get to know me calmly in their familiar surroundings.

When you are away, you can go about your day knowing that your cat is in caring and reliable hands.

Every booking begins with a real conversation. No accounts, no automated approvals — Elena confirms every visit herself.

    Required for a first booking and free when you book a care period, so Elena, you and your cat meet in person.

    Pay securely via link online. Visits begin on your dates, following your cat's routine.

FAQ

Questions people usually ask.

What happens during a Home Visit?

At least 30 minutes with your cat: feeding and fresh water, cleaning the litter box, a little play, and quiet companionship — following the daily routine you already have at home.

Can Elena give my cat medication?

Medication mixed into food is fine and part of a normal visit. Tablets and pills aren't offered as a standard service. This isn't veterinary care — if your cat needs medical attention, that's a job for your vet.

What days and hours can Elena visit?

Sunday to Friday, 09:00–17:00. Visits are normally scheduled in one of these time windows: 09:00–11:00, 11:00–13:00, 13:00–15:00 or 15:00–17:00. Saturday is normally Elena's day off. If Saturday is essential, please mention it in your request and Elena will check availability.

Please send a request first. I’ll check availability and confirm the individual price before your booking is confirmed.

Is a Meet & Greet always required?

Yes, for your first booking. The Meet & Greet is FREE when you book a care period. It is a 20–30 minute visit to meet you and your cat, discuss their routine, and go through the details before care starts. If you want a Meet & Greet without booking care, or the care booking is cancelled after the Meet & Greet, the €15 call-out fee applies. It covers Elena's travel time and the introductory visit.

How does payment work?

After you send a request, Elena confirms availability personally. Once confirmed you'll receive a secure payment link to pay online. No accounts, no automatic charges.

Are you insured?

Yes. My cat-sitting business is insured with Univé.
